OLLI at the Movies
at Peoria Riverfront Museum
The OLLI Mix & Mingle is a great way to meet new
people in a casual environment.
Participants will purchase their own drinks
and snacks. Each event will be hosted by OLLI
volunteers and a Bradley staffer. We have reserved
a few tables at area restaurants so we can mix and
mingle, OLLI style. Registration is required, but if
you9d like to bring a friend who is new to OLLI just
call the of昀ce and let us know so we can add them
to the count.

connection, and the immigrant experience, as
the professor 昀nds renewed purpose through
an unlikely friendship with an immigrant couple.
Dr. Aurea Toxqui, Associate Professor at Bradley
University, will introduce the 昀lm and offer
re昀ections on its immigration themes4adding a
personal perspective as an immigrant herself.

The 昀lm follows British POWs forced by the
Japanese to build a railway bridge in the
jungles of Southeast Asia. Viewing this Oscarwinning 昀lm on the big screen is an ideal
cinematic experience thanks to its stunning
use of CinemaScope and Technicolor. OLLI 昀lm
facilitator Tim Burns will offer insights before the
screening and guide a post-昀lm re昀ection.

Get into the holiday spirit with this nostalgic
Thanksgiving favorite from writer-director John
Hughes. Starring Steve Martin as an uptight

he shares opening remarks and leads a post昀lm re昀ection celebrating the movie’s timeless
