anniversary, in 2026, of this historic
road we will discuss the road9s
places, people and things you may 昀nd on your
travels along the way. Find out why friends don9t
let friends drive the Interstate. We9ll cover the road
from its inception in 1926 to its ultimate demise
in 1985 and rebirth. Experience the America of
yesterday as we journey along its 2448 miles
through 8 states. Hear about some historic ladies
of RT66. Learn what the Federal RT66 Centennial
Commission and the eight state RT66 Centennial
Commissions have planned for this centennial
year celebration.
$30 3 Class instructor is Paul Buck, an OLLI
member and Route 66 traveler.
Healing Yourself with Sound
For thousands of years, in different cultures
around the globe, sound has been used to
promote healing. Attendees will learn about the
history and science behind sound healing. They
will learn about how sound waves work to help the
body heal itself and they will have the opportunity
to experience different sound healing instruments,
such as crystal singing bowls and tuning forks.
(MEDICAL INFORMATION - Sound healing is not
recommended for those with pace-makers or
screw implants. Diabetics and those experiencing
high blood pressure should check their levels
before attending a sound therapy session.)
$30 3 Class instructor is Harley Easton, Bradley
University alum in music education and certi昀ed
sound healer specializing in Crystal Singing Bowls
and Tuning Fork Therapy.
Illinois Wild Birds 3 Biology & Conservation
The Peoria River Valley is home to a rich and
diverse population of wild birds, making it an ideal
place to explore the fascinating world of avian life.
In this course, you9ll learn the basics of wild bird
biology, how to identify common Illinois species,
and the key conservation issues affecting bird
populations today. Whether you9re a beginner or
an experienced birdwatcher, you9ll gain a deeper
appreciation for the vital role birds play in our
ecosystems. Please Note: Our 昀nal session will
take place at Forest Park Nature Center, where
we’ll walk a 昀at, crushed gravel trail to observe
and identify wild birds in their natural habitat.

$30 3 Class instructor is Susie Grana Ingram, Chief
Naturalist at the Peoria Park District and serves as
President of Environmental Education Association
of Illinois.
Introduction to Islam
This class offers an introduction to the
fundamental beliefs and practices of orthodox
Islam. We9ll explore the core tenets of the Islamic
faith, including the Five Pillars, key elements of
the belief system, and the daily religious practices
observed by Muslims around the world. Special
emphasis will be placed on the Islamic concept of
monotheism (Tawhid), the signi昀cance of prayer
(Salat), the pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj), and the role
of the Prophets in Islamic theology. Join us for
a clear and respectful understanding of Islam9s
spiritual foundations and its global expression in
everyday life.
$30 3 Class instructor is Jihad Salahuddin, Bradley
Alumnus and teacher of Islamic courses for over
20 years.
Lift Every Voice and Sing Southern Gospel Music
Enjoy music from Southern Gospel Music pioneers
including Mahalia Jackson, Thomas Dorsey,
Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, John Legend,
Usher, Elvis Presley, and Bill and Gloria Gaither.
We9ll also cover a number of Gospel quartets and
Gospel artists including the Stamps Quartet, The
Cathedral Quartet, The Blackwood Brothers, the
Chuck Wagon Gang, The Kingdom Heirs, plus
several other black, white, male, female, and family
gospel groups ranging from the early 19009s to
today (Andre Crouch, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson,
Carrie Underwood). You will be encouraged to
sing along for the songs you know and listen to
those you don9t know.
