Sometimes It's Right . . . Sometimes It’s Wrong . . .
But It’s Always The Supreme Court
Since the days of our founding as a nation,
the United States Supreme Court has been
interpreting America’s laws, but also doing much
more in the process. Throughout its history -and as various individual justices have come and
gone -- the Court’s decisions have actively defined
rights, influenced politics, and altered daily life –
and the Court has itself been changed by these
same forces. From slavery to civil rights, economic
regulation to free speech and beyond, sometimes
the Court has led social change, and sometimes
it has resisted it. But its nine justices have always
helped shape and define America’s character and
direction. This class will study the path that the
Court has traveled.
$30 – Class instructor is John T. Brady, semi-retired
attorney and frequent OLLI instructor.

Energy: Challenging Times Ahead and Their
Potential Solutions
Join our journey through the rapidly-changing
world of energy and how it impacts our daily
lives. We’ll start with the transitions from carbon
based electrical generation to greener options.
We’ll show how electricity is generated today
and the cutting-edge ways we now store that
power to keep our grid resilient. We’ll take a look
at the modern digital landscape, discussing the
massive impact of data centers on our energy
supply. We’ll then dive into transportation and
the transition toward electric vehicles (EVs) and
their all-important battery innovations. Looking
further ahead, we’ll explore the next frontier of
transit – from wind-assisted shipping to the arrival
of autonomous flying drone taxis. Finally, we will
take a practical look at your residential electricity
options, empowering you to make informed
choices about how you power your own life.
$30 – Class instructor is Richard Radochia, a
returning OLLI instructor, former career in
