Study Groups offer an opportunity to investigate
topics in depth. Most study groups typically meet
once a week for four to eight weeks.

America9s Global Affairs Discussion Program

Goodwill Commons
America is facing critical issues that bear
enormous consequences. Participants will have
the opportunity to discuss the following topics:
American Foreign Policy at a Crossroads; U.S.
Changing Leadership of the World Economy;
Science Across Borders; U.S. China Relations;
After Gaza: American Policy and the Middle East;
International Cooperation on Climate Change;
The Future of NATO and European Security;
AI and American National Security; and India:
Between China, the West and the Global South.
Before the 昀rst meeting, participants must obtain
the Great Decision 2025 brie昀ng book book
(available at fpa.org/greatdecisions) and read the
analysis for each topic as the basis for discussion.

2. The Seven Sins Of Memory
Mondays, March 17 3 April 14

Methodist College
Harvard psychology professor Daniel Schacter
wrote The Seven Sins of Memory, now available
in a 20th anniversary edition. This group
will explore how our minds both forget and
remember. Dr. Schacter offers a clear, engaging,
and thought-provoking examination of memory
research, shedding light on how and why our
memory functions4and why, at times, it fails us.
Through this exploration, we will gain a deeper
understanding of memory9s complexities and
discover ways to improve our ability to remember.

3. Discovering India:
The Hidden Gems Of Bharat
Tuesdays, March 18 3 April 22
2:00 3 4:15 p.m.
Peoria Main Library
This group will be an exploration of India9s rich
and varied society, touching on its historical,
cultural, economic, and religious diversity. We9ll
investigate how a nation with such a vast range
of traditions, languages, and practices manages
to coexist harmoniously. Discussions will cover
India9s historical evolution, the major indigenous
religions, and the vibrant food culture, colorful
festivals, and clothing. The group will feature
several guest lecturers with direct experience in
India, as well as an opportunity to engage with
clothing, food samples, and artifacts to deepen
our understanding.
