women such as Cher, Madonna, Adele, Tina

developed his theory of evolution. Located 600
miles west of Ecuador, these islands are home to
animals that don9t fear humans, as they evolved in
near isolation with few predators.

A 28-day adventure by camper van, traveling the
back roads and mountains of New Zealand. Along
the way, we encountered all manner of wildlife
and people, enjoying the island9s diverse culture
and stunning beauty.
22. Ocean Worlds:
The Search for Life Beyond Earth
Earth is an oasis in space, the only world we know
of with life, and water is a necessary ingredient for
that life. In our search for life beyond Earth, we
naturally look for places with water. Surprisingly,
our robotic reconnaissance of the Solar System
has revealed many potential ocean worlds,
some with even more water than Earth. As our
telescopes continue to advance, we’re 昀nding new
worlds orbiting other stars, some of which may
have conditions similar to Earth. As we explore
these ocean worlds, could we one day make the
ultimate discovery4life itself?
$30 3 Class instructor is Nick Rae, Senior
Planetarium Educator at the Peoria Riverfront
Museum.

23. Can a Broken Congress Be Fixed?
The 118th Congress, which ended its session in
January 2025, will go down in history. It passed
among the fewest laws in modern history, was
the 昀rst to oust a House Speaker mid-term, and
was one of the most closely divided. So, is the
institution broken? Using Dirksen Congressional
Center documents, we9ll examine efforts to reform
Congress since World War II, as well as explore
some of the factors that have contributed to today9s
hyper-partisanship. We9ll also look at current
reporting and the work of more recent members
of Congress to learn about reform proposals being
discussed4including a few already underway
that haven9t received much public attention.
$30 3 Class Instructor is Chris Kaergard,
Communications Director and Historian at The
Dirksen Congressional Center.
April 16: John Dust 3 Russia

River to Moscow, with dedicated stops along

tastings, subway rides, and river cruising, the
locations and people are truly fascinating.
April 23: Gary Nelson 3 Southeast Asia
Experience Southeast Asia as we journey through
Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh
City), Angkor Wat, and more, including Bangkok
