Great African-American Short Stories
Get a taste of four short stories by AfricanAmerican Writers in Great Short Stories by
African-American Writers, edited by Christine
Rudisel and Bob Blaisdell. Each story to be
discussed is available online and links will be
emailed to participants prior to the class. Selected
stories include Mary Elizabeth by Jessie Fauset;
Jesus Christ in Texas by W.E.B. Du Bois; Everyday
Use by Alice Walker; and The City of Refuge by
Rudolph Fisher.

Critical Economics Topics for 2026
Knowledge of economics helps us to better
understand the world around us, including people,
business, markets, and government. In this class
you will grow your economic literacy and improve
your ability to comprehend critical economic
issues for 2026. Jon Haveman and his colleagues
will present a U.S. Economic Update on February
4; provide their economist perspectives on the
US Federal Budget on February 11; US Monetary
Policy on February 18; and International Economic
Institutions including the United Nations, the
International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and
the World Trade Organization on February 25.
$20 – Class instructor is Jon Haveman, Ph.D.,
Executive Director of the National Economic
Education Delegation.
Dr. Stoic Will See You Now
This class will explore the connection between
self-help and Stoic philosophy. Using the book
Reasons Not to Worry by Brigid Delaney, we will
dive into four diverse situations addressed by Stoic
philosophy and ask ourselves how we can be our
own self-help guru.
$20 – Class Instructor is Pastor Bill Dohle, frequent
OLLI instructor from Pueblo, Colorado. Pastor at
King of Kings Lutheran Church and an adjunct
professor of religion and philosophy at Colorado
State University Pueblo.

Fundamentals and Contemporary Nuances of
Prostate Cancer Diagnosis and Therapy
Prostate cancer is one of the most common
cancers among men, but understanding how
it’s detected and treated can feel overwhelming.
